This series broadly explores the desire to strengthen political and cultural borders and the efforts to demarcate who deserves belonging and political rights within the historical and present European context. Yet like the topic of  “Borders and Belonging” this series extends beyond the European context and includes how European cultures are embracing and evolving with respect to migration from Central Asia, North and Western Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. This series is sponsored by UCI Humanities Center and European Languages and Studies.
