ABOUT CHRISTINE AMOROSO:

Christine Amoroso is the author of the popular blog “Bare Naked in Public” and a frequent contributor to Holl and Lane/ The Kindred Voice magazine.  She recently took a leave from a 20-year career in education--the last 14 as a school administrator--to work full-time on her book.  Seamlessly blending memoir with personal essay, Amoroso’s writing is marked by a frank, intimate, and personal voice.  Addressing issues ranging from motherhood, to aging, to loss and grief, Amoroso brings readers closely into her confidence, using lessons from her own life to help us reflect on our own.

Amoroso says of her work:

I love writing and the process. It has helped me organize my thoughts and work through some pretty tough life lessons. It was writing that gave me the courage to change my life for the better.  I encourage everyone to tell and share their stories. It's the only way we can find our way back to each other.

ABOUT THE UCI LITERARY JOURNALISM PROGRAM:

The Literary Journalism Program is home to the Literary Journalism major and, as of 2013, the Literary Journalism minor.
The program was created to meet the needs of a growing number of students who wish to read, study and write nonfiction prose that has transcended the limits of daily journalism.  Read about our current projects, including our plans for a Storytelling Lab and Center for Storytelling here.
